Tissue in his cheek pouches?
Hello again!
Diego seems to be settling in very well. I've hand fed him a few seeds and managed to pet him a few times ☺
I done the tissue trick and put a few squares of loo roll in my bra today (this is the 2nd day I've done it) and put it in his cage and he seems to be taking it to nest, which is good! He did, however, stuff it all in his cheek pouches and my concern was that it would maybe get stuck and he wouldn't be able to get it back out?
I think he's taken it out now, but is that a thing that happens or am I being too paranoid?
Heres a pic of the lil baby..

Re: Tissue in his cheek pouches?
That’s quite normal, they do pouch bedding to take back to the nest.
Very occasionally there have been times where hamsters have over pouched tissue and have needed help emptying them but it’s not anything to worry about. I’ve only seen a couple of cases before.
