Hamster wet/oily back (NOT WETAIL)
So Coco has a oily back when you touch it it’s not wet at all,
It has no odour,
She isn’t acting oddly still being a silly self.
Should I just leave it to be honest I’m unsure what to do.

Re: Hamster wet/oily back (NOT WETAIL)
I would guess it's either from scent marking or possibly if there's oil on the spindle of her wheel especially if the wheel's a bit small it could be from that.

Re: Hamster wet/oily back (NOT WETAIL)
I noticed that when I had a hamster with mites it had a bit of a greasy look to the fur (along with a bit of fur loss).

Can you post a photo? It’s quite difficult to tell what the problem is otherwise. It could be one of the issues mentioned above or it could just be that she’s satin haired.

To be honest it is only in a tiny patch it has gone now so I read up it’s something to do with that they struggled to groom there or something like that, thanks for your help though.
