Default Hamster not using chews?

So my little Elaina doesn't chew any of the wooden or raffia chew.
I have the hamster mail subscription box so each month I try a new one and she shows no interest.
If there food then she of course loves all of them, but wood and she sniffs then walks away.
I even rub a thin amount of peanut butter, so it smells nice.
10 minutes play then she never touches it again.

She will thou chew wood if it's her house. I've had to replace 2 houses as she's chewed them so there not structurally safe.
Like the corner's she chews big holes, to the point it's not a building but kinda connected pieces.

Anyone else's hamster do this.

Most of my hamsters are the same, they’ll chew any other wooden toys and houses but wont touch their chew toys!

It's not at all unusual for them to ignore wooden chews or toys sold as chew toys, I've found with mine they will often chew houses if they want to expand them! Or if the substrate underneath isn't deep enough to burrow under.
If you want a chew your ham is almost certain to love try the whimzee dog chews.

So when I built Theodore his play box four months back I added chew toys of which a couple were willow balls for him to chew. From day one he's shown no interest in them but two weeks ago I noticed that one was missing. While he was up in his cage sleeping I searched around and found the missing ball in the back of his castle. Since we live alone it was either him or me and it wasn't me ... so even though he's shown no interest in chewing it - he now was it stored in his favorite place where he likes to hide all his treasures! And so it goes ..

My winter white Pepper is exactly the same. I have a little wooden, beet-shaped chew in her cage and she just throws it around (or in the case of her banana chew, urinated on it). She also has a mineral stone which she refuses to chew and urinated on.

She does love her treat-block though, which is basically just a block of sunflower seeds and some pellet food stuck together.

She also doesn't chew her house which is wood.

The other thing she does love chewing are my fingernails! When it happened I thought she was just being affectionate and licking my finger, and when I looked down, a large chunk of my fingernail was gone, all the way into my nailbed!
