Default New hamster won't sleep!

I've just got my new hamster, I brought him home about 4:30pm, it's now nearly 11 pm and he hasn't slept at all, most of the time he's been running on his wheel. He only had a flying saucer wheel that was too small before.

Is this normal?

Yes, this is normal. When you first bring your ham home, they may be curious and want to smell or play with new objects.

They are also nocturnal so he might just be the nocturnal version of an early bird.

Mother of the world's smartest Syrian, Hamper! Well, maybe not the world's smartest but he's the smartest hamster I've ever seen! I'm also the aunt of the deadly vampire Ruby! He's not actually deadly or vampiric but we like to pretend

He's still up! How is he not tired! I don't even think he slept over night as I got up a few times to check him and he was on his wheel every time, I'm wondering if he is just happy to have a wheel he can run on?

He's just tried to sleep wedged up in the air between his wheel and the bars, I've moved the wheel and put the Sputnik there so if he wants to be a monkey and sleep up high he can!
I've got a climbing bridge and hammock coming for him today so hopefully he'll like those

He'll need a couple of weeks to really settle in He should have made himself a nest by tomorrow and scent marked his cage. So best not to disturb things or clean anything the first two weeks. Apart from spot cleaning the pee corner after a week maybe!

He's slept a bit today and made a hoard but he's awake again! He loves his wheel! I'm going to leave him alone for a few days before I try to start any taming and let him settle
