Question hiccuping hamster?

Hi everyone.
Just a quick question is it normal for a hamster to get the hiccups?
This morning snuffles was in his cage and all of a sudden he started making clicking sounds and sort of... well hiccuping movements every couple of seconds. I've never seen him do that before. is this normal? should I be worried?
thank you so much!

They can make clicking noises sometimes. It may be for no reason or it may be he's annoyed or excited about something Keep an eye on him though and see if it settles down. How old is he?

One of mine sometimes appeared to have hiccups when she was very young but she just seemed to grow out of it, it is possible it could be a sign of something else though so best to just keep a close check on things.

If it doesn't settle it might be worth a vet check in case it's a convulsion of some sort. Although if your hamster is very old it may just be he is nearing his time - they can get various things before they are ready to leave us.
