Red face Hamster sleeping on me, then being really hyper?

So fuzz is being a bit strange. When I let him sit in my neck he falls asleep on me, but when I hold him on my stomach he gets really hyper and crazy. He lets me play my iPad but he loathes console games. Is this a normal Syrian thing?

Edit: I DO know they like cuddles but this is different. The only place in my body where he will accept cuddles is my neck.

Mother of the world's smartest Syrian, Hamper! Well, maybe not the world's smartest but he's the smartest hamster I've ever seen! I'm also the aunt of the deadly vampire Ruby! He's not actually deadly or vampiric but we like to pretend

Yes but is intolerance of gaming consoles normal Syrian behavior?

When you ask questions on a forum you won’t always hear exactly what you want to hear and that’s the nature of it. Thin Lizzy has complimented you both so appreciate that and try not to get frustrated.
As for your question.. how do you know she hates consoles? I’ve never witnessed hamsters seriously dislike any items before. Hamsters can be funny little things and often do strange things it’s not something I’d worry about.

1. Hamper is a boy. 2. He knows when I play Fortnite, Minecraft, and any shooter game and when he notices he always tries to annoy me and get my attention and I think maybe even get put up! I think it may have something to do with the controller?

I don't know about normal Syrian behaviour as I don't keep Syrians but two of my Chinese will frequently fall asleep on me when they are sat in a certain position but won't if they're sat somewhere else so I'm wondering if it's to do with them feeling particularly relaxed when they're sat in their favourite spot and they feel safe enough to fall asleep.

As for his reactions to your playing computer games, do you play the same sort of games on your iPad than you would on a console? If so it could be the sounds of the console games that he doesn't like or if your controller vibrates or something, he may dislike that rather than the gaming itself.

There is no definite answers as to why hamsters behave in the way that they do and hamsters are so individual in what they like and dislike or why those preferences have been formed. For example one of my previous hamsters used to become very agitated during thunderstorms but yet the rest of my hamsters didn't seem to care. I wouldn't say that it was 'normal' behaviour for a Chinese to be afraid of thunderstorms but it was normal for him and I just had to accept that it was part of who he was.

No. I play all sorts of games with him on my iPad and he's perfectly happy, whilist on the Xbox One he's all like "Mommy what the heck are you doing, you're playing a console game? Noisy! Put me up!"

Edit: Maybe it's because all three of my console games involve noisy fighting and blowing stuff up.

It sounds like that might be the case as hamsters have far more sensitive hearing than we do and the loud noises of the fighting and explosions in your games are more likely to be the thing he dislikes rather than the fact that it's a console game instead of an iPad game.

I'd probably leave him in his cage whilst you're playing the noisy console games and perhaps get him out at a quieter time for cuddles.

Okay. The thing is on my IPad I also have minor noisy games, like Geometry Dash, as well as MMORPGs. Maybe he's okay with music?
