History of the little lady (Name's still pending)
This little one once belonged to a girl of twelve. She didn't want her anymore, either because of a new school or simply because she didn't want her anymore.
So the young girl brought her hamster to her grandpa. Her grandpa didn't know what to do with the animal.
So he put her up for adoption, for free on the dutch version of ebay.
Enter my acquaintance, who rescues hamsters from this site. She took Little Lady in around the 20th of March this year. The cage she came with and is still staying in can be seen on the picture. I also included two pictures of Little one herself, because for the life of me I can't seem to guess what her colour is suppose to be. I also wonder, could she be a hybrid?
Little Lady is about 15 months old now by the way.
Her cage now is about 17 inches/45 cm. I know this is way to small. Because of her budget, acquaintance had been looking for something bigger.
Note: she keeps her dwarfs in cages of around 23-27 inch or 60 cm average.
acquaintance immediatly changed the old wheel for the silent spinner one. Because that old one was really tiny.
She told me Little one runs quite a lot in this wheel. And now we have arrived at the point of questions:
-Little Lady bites. She seems to be territorial. Stick you hand in the cage and she lunges for it. Does cage size have anything to do with this? Will something the size of a fully equiped detolf help with making her feel calmer?
-Not really sure, but it seems she hasn't ever been tamed. Is it still possible with her older age? Or at least calm enough if she ever needs to go to the vet, that kind of stuff.
I have offered to take Little one in, because my detolf is empty now. Multiple hides will be offered and about of 4-6 inch of bedding for now will be offered.
Anything else she could use? Toy-idea's?
That's about all I wanted to tell and ask. I don't have experience with hamsters like Little Lady, so I am always looking for advice!
