Question when to end play-time?

What's a usual sign a hammy is tired of play time? I've only been bonding with Luna outside her cage for bout a week now but never sure when she's tired of it. I keep her out usually less then 10-5 minutes as to build her confidence though she always seems like she'd like to play a little more.

If she seems happy out of the cage then I would give her longer, it's hard to describe how she might show that she's had enough but you'll see some changes in her behaviour when she's ready, if you're really not sure then just extend the time gradually, give it an extra 5-10 minutes & build as if she seems happy & confident with that.

I'm glad that Luna is having so much fun with her playtime bonding with you. Cypher gave excellent advice. Have fun with your little sweetheart.

Agree with Cypher. Eventually you'll get to know when she's getting tired.

I usually use Harvey's playball to carry him, then I leave it open on the floor while he runs about. Quite often, when he's had enough, he'll climb back into his ball and just sit waiting for me to put him back in his cage.

I usually would let my hams out for 30-60 minutes once their confidence was up. At first though, I limited play time to 15 minutes. It’s better to start slow anyway so as to allow them to get used to long periods of time without water, a litter tray, or a secure nesting place. If you notice her mostly hiding, or appearing stressed- it may be time to put her back. However, if she seems happy, I would let her have as much time as she’d like I’d say you’re fine to increase her play time to 15-20 minutes as you see fit.

Best wishes!
