Aww, everyone's hamster's quirks sound very funny and sweet. I am definitely enjoying reading about all of them. This is such an entertaining thread that you started, CBB!!!

My Syrian hamster Eros has quite a few quirks, but the ones that rank in the top five (in no particular order) are the following. I hope that they amuse you and make you smile.

1. Although she usually runs inside of her wheel, she sometimes decides that running her marathon on the outside, top of her wheel is a much better and amusing way of doing it. I suppose that she believes she needs a more challenging exercise regiment in order to be the 007 agent that she is, lol.


2. When she is doing something naughty or acting like a miniature clown with her silly antics, she often will turn around to look at me and stick out her pink tongue. She really is a cheeky little ham, lol.


3. When she really loves what she is eating or I do something that amuses her, she will often make this "Oh my!!!" expression with her paws placed onto her priceless face.


4. When I have her playing outside of her cage and present to her one of my animated, stuffed animals that play music and dance, Eros automatically pushes the button that turn the toy on and joins in the fun by dancing and hopping on her hind legs to the music. This happens every single time and can last for a few minutes each time. She is really quite the entertainer.


5. She is extremely attentive and loving of her Whimzee chew toy Alli (the alligator chews, of course). She will carry it along with her for outside of her cage playtime; happily prance around with it in her mouth, then toss it to me like a frisbee (I usually try my best to catch it in midair, although I'm not always successful, lol.); and tuck it into bed (always putting a millet spray blanket on it to keep it warm and cozy). There are just too many pics to include in order to demonstrate Eros's equestrian dressage-like procession carrying her Alli and tossing her to me so I'm not including them here since it would take up way too much space. I will share her bedtime ritual with Alli though.

Those really are some lovely quirks dreamtree (number 4 especially)
Bella does the same thing and runs on the outside of her wheel. Cracks me up everytime

Thank you, CBB. Somehow it always still shocks me that she does #4; you would think I would not be surprised by it anymore since it has happened numerous times already, lol.

I'm glad that Eros is in good company with Bella running on the outside of her wheel, too. Hams are just so creative and funny. I always crack up laughing, too. Maybe if enough hams do the same thing, they can request that a new event be added at the next hamolympics, lol.
