Hamster sleeping in her tube
So
My hamster likes to poop and sleep in one round corner of her tube. She has two sand bath places and enough space in her cage. However, sometimes when I see her sleeping, she is in that part of the tube that is super dirty. I can't remove the tubes since I have bin cages and therefore I would have 2 huge gaps that I can't cover.
When I knock with my hand she comes out of the tube and goes in her igloo, but otwerwise she will stay there. What should I do?

Re: Hamster sleeping in her tube
Do you mean you have two bins joined with a tube?
If she continues to sleep, pee & everything in the tube then I think you'll need to rethink your set up, you can't continue to allow her to sleep in there but you can't stop her without removing the tube, to keep banging on the tube isn't fair to her.
Can you get a larger bin so she can have all her space in one?

She has only one bin cage that has enough space, but the tube goes around half of the cage, like an "L", so both ends of it go back to the cage(sorry, I don't know how to explain it).

Re: Hamster sleeping in her tube
So do you mean the tube is outside the bin?
If the problem is having holes in the sides of the bin then that's easily solved by just meshing over them.

Re: Hamster sleeping in her tube
Do you know how to mesh a cage?
You'll need to buy some metal mesh, you could just cut a square to go over the round hole, if you put the mesh on the outside that would be safe, then you need to make some small holes either with an electric drill or you can use a soldering iron spaced around the holes you're covering so you can then attach the mesh tightly with cable ties.

Thank you.
Yeah, did it for the sides of the cage.
