Exclamation Started biting now?

Some background: Luna is a WW Hybrid who I got a week ago.

Starting taming Luna today by getting her use to the opening of the bin tops as well as me placing my hand in and letting her climb on it. She's okay with being held for short periods of times.

I put my hand in today an she let me hold her, I then put her on her platform with a food bowl and she began to eat. I picked up one her treats she was chewing earlier and let her take it off my hand. I then place my hand back down on the ground level and she came by again but started nipping me.

She nipped my palm, fingers, back of my hand and a bit of my arm. It didn't hurt but I waited till she was tired of my hand and moved it away. She also went to the other side of her bin an was kicking up the substrate? I let her come back to see if she do it again and she did, kept nipping till she moved away again.

I didn't wash my hands as I had just woken up and petted my cat so could it be that? if so why didn't she bite the first time I lifted her? How can I prevent her from biting again, I dont want her to nip me as a bad habit.

It's odd that she didn't bite immediately but I would never put your hands near her smelling of cat! They can usually have an instinctive fear of predators so biting would be expected if she could smell the cat.
Females often more than males can be territorial in the cage too so probably better to handle her out of the cage in a playpen or other secure place.

True I'll wash my hands every time so she'll feel more at ease. If she continues to nip in her cage I'll just use the bathtub method instead hopefully she wont nip as much in there.
