water drinking habits

I'm 20 years old, but I got my very first hamster when I was 19 and I still have her. She's fully tamed and about 7 months old. Since I upgraded her cage in January, the way she drinks from her bottle is strange. I'm not sure how to completely describe it. Basically, she will have her bum by the glass of the cage next to the bottle. She drinks sideways and crouches down. I have changed the height of the bottle numerous times, thinking maybe it was too low and she needed to drink like that because the bottle was low. No matter the height of the bottle, she drinks like that. Is she just a strange drinker or is there another explanation? I'm scared maybe drinking like that will cause her back issues and possibly shorten her life.

Some do just have odd ways of drinking, I had one who would always drink from behind the spout of her bottle but if it looks uncomfortable for her & you think it might not be good for her you could try moving the bottle or using a bottle stand maybe.

As cypher said, some hams just drink oddly. My one ham refused to drink unless he could grasp the bottle with both hands. My little guy chance used to slink over to his bottle to drink. Meanwhile, my gal Remi sat on her hind legs, and drank peacefully. I wouldnt worry over this. Best wishes
