Unhappy New male syrian hamster

I recently got a new syrian long haired hamster last week and I'm too scared to tame him because he seems way more aggressive than my female. I would work my way step by step by first using a glove to get him on my hand so he's use to being picked up but I'm too wary of using my bare hand.

Every time he is in his ball he would find his way to my female's front cage and start sniffing. My female syrian would also be sniffing him through the ball but thats about it and he's in the ball hissing and bitting the ventilation holes in the ball. idk why but he always insists on rolling to her cage and then getting aggressive and this kinda makes me more scared of him.

idk are there any tips you guys can give me cause he's really adorable and every time he wants to be put in the ball he would stand on top of his hideout with his two hind legs and his front paws just dangling in front of him and my heart melts but seeing him hissing and jumping against the ball to kinda attack my female scared me a lot. I know that syrians are territorial but my female doesnt seem to be showing signs of aggression but she has always been friendly ever since i got her.

Also this is a side question but why is it that when he was in the petshop housed with other syrians, he seemed fine and only minded his own business but now he has become quite aggressive towards my female syrian every time he sniffs her??

This is my new hamster btw he's so cute n idk what color he's classified under so some help would be appreciated!!!...

He looks lovely

I would just ditch the ball to start with, your male shouldn't be getting that close to your female & it won't help with taming.
Either set up a playpen/safe play area away from your female & put lots of toys & maybe a wheel in there for him & let him play in there instead, if you make it big enough you can sit inside with him or if not you can interact with him sitting by the side, alternatively some people use the bath (plug in & towel in the bottom) as a taming area.
Just because he's not happy & behaves that way in close proximity to your female doesn't mean he will be aggressive toward you so don't be afraid of taming him.
