Default girl vs boy

I must say after much reading, my hams seem be backwards but I think it just comes down to is; hamsters are the one rodent with most attitude.

chomski the girl; cleans her own cadge, stacks her poops up in a tray that she always uses to pee. if i spill food outside of bowl, its cleaned up. she makes eye contact with me and listens to my voice, holding her is a pleasure, she seems enjoy. comes to me or at least just allows me to pick her up. eats or pouches whatever i hand her. SHE SEEMS ENJOY BE PET AND WILL TOLERATE ME TOUCHING HER FEET N HEAD AND BODY. dosent run away, does adventure around, but if a strange noise happens, she runs back. she smells great four days a week!!! lol has her day off... i can not complain best ham ever!!!!

The boy Toad;
he smells like pee, messy, if i touch something in his cadge he throws fit and tips over n digs up everything, barking and snorting... he dont mind being held, dont seem scared, squirmy, tries running away, does not want food unless i set it down... i have been giving him space and occasional love, he dont seem to be bothered by me, but cleaning, his wheel moved, new bedding, it sends him into a fit... its cute, but i am going stop this even, he can be stinky till we work this out. i will clean his poo n pee corner and leave the rest for a while.

any advice for mr tantrum?

I haven't really got any advice, but I can sympathise - my (boy) hamster, Harvey, is super messy. He went through a phase of throwing everything off his shelf. Then another phase of overturning his food bowl (I think he thought there was something better buried underneath it.) His current thing is he's figured out how to pull the roof off his nest box. He blocks both doors and goes in and out through the roof.
And he hates having his cage cleaned. It's not so bad now, but the first few months I had him, he really used to freak out whenever I cleaned his cage. He's a bit better now, but I still tend to spot-clean and when I do do a 'big' clean, he's still not happy.
He doesn't always take food from my hand, but if it's one of his favourite treats, he'll usually take it.

Lol. I think maybe boys are territorial in a different way. They love you really but just like to show who is boss Hammies personalities vary as well. The cleaning issues sounds familiar. I only do a big clean about every 3 months now and use a litter tray. Even then I don't clean everything all at once and do wheel and toys a different time from substrate - and leave his nest and hoards alone.

Overturning the food bowl is a game I think
