Ares's behavior improving

It was in the middle of the afternoon and I felt bored, so I decided to take Ares out of his cage and try to befriend him. He was happily drinking water, heard me open the cage door and came running. I used an old cloth hat to take him out and put him on the couch. After a few unsuccessful attempts to hold him without being bitten (and a few Band-Aids) I went back over to the cage and gathered some of the Kleenex he has in his little den. Covered my hands in the stuff, then picked him up. He only bit me twice, and very softly. Got him a chunk of pasta to chew on, he's sitting next to me as I type this post.

I'm so glad that Ares's behavior is improving. That certainly is a huge step in the right direction. I will be hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that he will not follow his namesake but become the sweet, gentle ham who loves to play and cuddle with you. Great job, Ares!
