Default Emptying pouches on my lap

I was playing with Noel and he emptied his pouches onto my lap and started eating. I read online they empty their pouches when they get scared is that true? He seemed relaxed and content and I wouldn’t have thought he was scared until I read that it can mean that. What do you guys think?

I don’t think he would have us unpouched his food and ate if he was scared. He is more likely to try and hide and then unpouched the food and eat.

Sounds as though you're ham was totally relaxed! They do empty their pouches if they're scared or nervous & not in a place where they can safely hide the food away but it sounds as though yours just felt like a nibble on whatever was in there.

He probably couldn't wait any longer! Our Syrians have always waited till they get back to the nest to de pouch and snack, to keep the food safe, but if out of the cage for a while your hammy maybe couldn't wait any longer for his snack In fact, as Cypher says, he must be very relaxed with you, because whenever ours have had full pouches they are usually very active and wanting to go back to the cage and won't settle.
