Hamster laying flat
Does anyone know what it means when a hamster lays completely flat? Does it mean that they're relaxed or are feeling in danger?
I have found my hamster doing this quite a few times in the corner of her cage but always wondered why. Overall she seems very much content and happy with her life but wasn't sure if anyone actually knew the answer to this because unfortunately the research on this isn't too strong.

Re: Hamster laying flat
I can't tell you why, but I can tell you that my Cotton used to do it when he'd been running about a bit, and he's a very healthy little chap

Re: Hamster laying flat
If your hamster is still young it's not uncommon for them to race around then just flop down when they feel tired.

Re: Hamster laying flat
I thought it was when they are scared.
