Unhappy Hamster behaving Stressed

So, I adopted my new hamster Mila last week from pets at home. She was doing fine and she was about half tame. I decided to let her free range around a clear pet safe room for 5 minutes. When i put her back in her 600sq inch cage she started going crazy chewing the bars running around and sniffing very loudly. Please help when i adopted her she had just been treated for wet tail so im not sure if its something to with that or not

How long ago is it since you have put her back in her cage from being out in the pet safe room?

She could have found being in the room stressful - often hamsters are frightened in big open spaces due to their natural prey instinct of wanting to hide for safety and being frightened of predators. If you take her out in the room again, make sure she has plenty of dens and toys, and if possible access to her cage, so she doesn't feel so vunerable.

Otherwise, I'm not sure. Any kind of change can be stressful for hamsters but they usually calm down relatively quickly, once they know they are safe and back in their territory.

She may have been enjoying her free range time and wanted to come back out. It’s hard to tell why they do things sometimes.

Try to make her cage interesting. Hiding food/treats and have hides cardboard tubes and chew toys/whimzee chew. Hopefully by giving her other things to do will distract her from bar chewing.
