Someone assist me with a hamster that won't stay still. Im trying to trim her nails
This is especially true when I'm giving Mimi her medication. What I'm trying to do is trim her nails which has been long overdue. She cannot sit still for a trim. Scruffing her makes it a lot worse. I did what the vet said, grab a towel and hold her on her back and support her head. It does no good as she keeps wiggling out. It's extremely frustrating and I don't want to risk cutting the quick or worse her toes trying to cut her nails which needed to be done for months.
Please help me. I've tried clips and nail board. Nothing. Her nail is curved at 90 degrees and it needs to be done right now.

You could try sitting her in a sieve so just her nails go through the holes, she probably won't stay still like that either but you might be able to manage one at a time!

Get someone else to hold her steady or give her something really nice to chew on while they hold her still on a flat surface. Pick up the foot and press lightly so the toes spread and snip quickly. We use baby clippers or nail scissors for this.

I found this difficult as well and our hammy got so stressed. I ended up having the vet do it It might be worth it if the nails are that long, and then you can see how she manages it for next time. My appointment for a nail clip wasn't too expensive - £17 I think.
With the medication - could you put it in a tiny bit of baby food or porridge so she takes it easier.
