Hamster sleeps in my hand and massaged

Hey, I'm the mama for my male syrian hamsters: Myachick and Dumpling. I have a question, does your hamster love massages on his/her belly? Is it good for them to get massaged on belly?
Sometimes I heard them clicking their teeth while sleeping in my hand, is it normal?
If anyone has come across the same situation, please don't hesitate to share your experience with me!

I don't know enough about Syrians to answer your question (hopefully someone who does will see this post soon) but your hamster is very cute and I really love the names you chose!!

It's hard to tell in your photo but what cage is he in? It looks like it's on the smaller side so you should consider upgrading him to a larger cage since adult Syrians should really be in a cage thats atleast 80x50cm so they have plenty of space to play and explore

Master Harvey loves massages, but I've never massaged his belly. I gently massage from head to bottom, usually daily.

Thank you for your replies, Myachick, Dumpling and their mama really appreciated it!

When Myachick was 3 month old, I realized that the current cage was way too small for this little cute fat meatball. Then I connected two cages together so that the current cage is for his nesting and the new larger one is functioning as his playground, where he can climb into the coconut and tissue box nests, running on wheel, and digging the sand. (The old wheels in his old cage were blocked by me. Since he loves the smell of the old wheels so much, I wouldn't want to upset him by removing them.)
BTW, it is so hard to find an 8.5 inch silent wheel for hamsters in Canada...

I tried so hard to order a good one on Amazon.ca, and it is actually shipped from China. I mean having two hamsters running on the noisy wheels in the night is a nightmare...

That is cute...I tried to glide the back of Dumpling, he just simply got frozen and let me do whatever I want

My personal opinion is to definitely avoid Silent Spinners,they don't stay silent and it could end up being a waste of money(and I think they have a risky design that can come apart and cause injuries which has been seen with other pets)!If you can manage a 9 inch Silent Runner however that would work very well and will stay silent(I think they also have better safety features than any other wheel on the market including a solid stand and an enclosed front).They're not the cheapest wheel but sometimes it comes down to paying more for a better product that will last longer

oh crap... I had no idea... I really do see there are small gaps between the wheel... I guess I will switch back to the noisy one which has no gaps in between

It's much more well known with hedgehogs for example!

LOL, I was not sure if he was asleep while having the massage though. Or he just let me do anything I wanted to do to him...
The only thing I was afraid is that if I ever bothered his sleep.

I have heard several sayings that if hamster is bothered when they are asleep, their life span will be shortened.
