Default Hyper baby syrian

Hi,
At what point is it expected for Syrians to calm down a touch? My 10 week old girl is hyper! She loves attention and is very good when being handled, but she just won't stop running about. She's so curious and will run about and explore everything. I love that she is keen and happy, I'm just struggling to keep up with her. Lol.
My last hamster was super calm and snuggled into me from 6 weeks old do an energetic ham is quite a change.
Thanks.
Xx

I've always found my baby hams to be very hyper! I also have noticed females are very prone to hyperactivity as well. I'd like to say 6 months (as this is when they're considered adults) but I myself have an insane ham and he's over a year and a half now! I'd just let her mature a bit, she should calm at least a little for you

All mine were hyper, yeah I agree with Drago about them slowing down a bit when they become an adult at 6 months.
Every hamster is different in their own ways.
Can't see your pic as photobucket have blacked it out, you need to pay them if you want to use their service.

Hmm I think most babies are hyper, and girls even more so than boys. Quigley is 12 and a half weeks old and started slowing down at maybe 9 weeks? It's hard to remember. He slept in me for the first time yesterday, for half an hour and had a good snuggle with me for 15 minute s or so today, although he didn't actually sleep. From experience, they calm down quite a lot at around 6 months old when they are all fully grown and no longer a baby/teen.

Khali was like a wind up toy until she reached 6 months. She is still all go go go, but at a slower pace. I doubt she will ever be a hammy that sits still (unless I bribe her with food, even then I only get 2 mins tops) but I accept that. Ive read that boys are often more laid back and more cuddly than females, but again I think thats down to the individual ham. Ive come to realise that if I want a small animal that sits still I should get a guinea pig haha ( any excuse for g-pigs)
