Default Re: Biting the bottle

Welcome to my world! So annoying! My Syrian Honey, it's her favourite pastime. When I first rescued her, I first thought it was that her bottle wasn't working, got her a new one. In fact she has had 4 plus a sippy bottle. Nothing ever stopped it. I believe it can be a learned behaviour from the mother. She has calmed down, but she goes through phases where that is all she will do. She has plenty in her cage to chew on. I think if you have enough chew toys and treats, have checked that water is coming out of the bottle, then it's probably a bad habit. You can always try a water bowl or a sippy bottle. But mine didn't seem to understand how to use the sippy bottle, so I gave her back the normal one.
