She does live in my bedroom and that's exactly what happens. My mum suggested that we move her downstairs for a night just so I can sleep as I haven't had one single full night of sleep for the past week.
I'm thinking the solution might be to buy a tank but my mum thinks instead of biting that she'll start to scratch the glass, is this true? What would be the best cage to get for a bar biter?

If overall setup doesn't change and the cage size doesn't get bigger,it's quite likely the behavior would continue in different ways(such as pacing, corner digging and chewing, leaping at glass, etc). It can certainly be a temporary fix to use a tank, but if the issue lies elsewhere it needs to be solved alternatively.

If you think she's doing it for attention, she might also be bored. Puzzle toys are great for that because hamsters are actually pretty intelligent and need mental stimulation. YouTube has tutorials for how to make simple puzzle toys for hamsters out of toilet paper rolls!

This works for my hamster. He also chews on his bars when he's bored or looking for attention. If he's really bored, he'll solve it overnight. If not, it takes him a few days to get around to it.
