Ivy used to make a sort of buzz vibration regularly, possibly more when on heat. I thought it was probably a communication of sorts. My other Syrians don't do it.

My dwarf has never done it, only my Syrian. I can't remember my other Syrians doing it though.

I find it is when they are unsure and not to much wanting to be taken out or held or feeling frustrated you won't let them run off in to the sunset! We call is 'buzzing' and have had all species do it!

I'm not to sure on this. Is that actually fact or..? Because she'll do it when she's excited to be coming out, like she's at the door asking me to free roam, I'll open it, she climbs eagerly onto my hands knowing she's going the room to explore and she'll be all quivering. It's cute.

That's the impression I got too, PP. as if she was excited about going on an explore. Not feeling cross or frustrated

It's not a fact but just something that we personally have found with our hamsters in these situations where they are maybe new to us or being tamed so unsure. Once tamed it doesn't happen unless they are maybe taken in a different room or encounter a strange object to them or a strange smell.

The only hamster I have had who has trembled/vibrates/shakes is my Pumpkin - she normally does it when she unsure of something or if she being handled by someone she not completely comfortable with yet - I experienced this when I was taming her (her body language also showed she unsure/worried). A couple of times when she been excited to come out and has climbed into my hand she has heard a noise and is a little shaky before she quickly relaxes.
