Bedding
I've read that hamsters need a few inches of bedding, but my Syrian doesn't seem to like it. He'll move it away from the corners and sit there, no matter how much bedding I give him. This is especially annoying when he pees in the empty corner. Any advice?

Re: Bedding
Some of my Chinesey girls do that... they'll move it away from certain corners of their cages and you'll find it piled up in the centre of their cages or in their wheels. Chineseys don't seem to have particular wet corners like Syrians do so I don't have the issue of the pee in the empty corners and consequently leave them to it but you could try putting a litter tray in that corner if you don't want him peeing in the empty corner.

Re: Bedding
How much substrate does he have? It might sound a bit odd but I was wondering if maybe he doesn't have enough (about 20cm) as they do sometimes like to dig down where they pee & will sometimes cover it up afterwards.
You could try putting a tray with some sand or damp substrate there if he always uses the same corner & he might take to using that instead.
Zen does the same as your girls Fluffagrams but I think that's just them being funny little Chineseys & enjoying a bit of creative house keeping

Re: Bedding
It's better than him sleeping in multiple places or in his nest. As others have said to try a potty in that corner. I have a bowl of Chinchilla dust in Heaven's cage and she immediately started using it as a potty.

Cinnamon Bear I think you meant to say Chinchilla sand, as opposed to Chinchilla dust. Or am I wrong in thinking the dust can cause respiratory problems with hammies?

Re: Bedding
Thank you for the suggestions! I did try litter training him in the beginning, but he would pee in it and then play in it. I think now that he has his own sand bowl, I'll try litter training again.

Re: Bedding
He might still do the same thing but it really doesn't matter too much!
