new hamster, is it normal for her to...
My new female hamster(my first, too!) I just got tonight, is friendly and tame. I put her in her new cage, everything she needs. She ran on the wheel and ate some food. I didn't see her drink, but offered her some in a bowl encase the bottle didn't work for some reason. after a bit of exploring and running on her wheel, she fell asleep until about 11:00pm. I checked to see, and she was eating. But after that, she began to run around the cage, like she was scared of something. She is still at it, and trying to escape the cage, running around a lot and it's scaring me. Is this normal??
[ Also, my hamster got her stomach wet from the water bowl, should I dry her off or leave it?? ]

If you only just got her she'll be busy exploring her new home, scent marking & just settling in, give her a few days to adjust, coming to a new home is a huge change for them.

Don't bother her for at least 24 hours, she'll be incredibly nervous and scared as would you if you were suddenly put in an environment you didn't know with strangers. In a few days she'll settle.
Also, what size is your cage? Type?

it is a 30 gallon tank with a ledge over half that she can also access.

Hope she settles in soon. It can take a while though.

Some hams adjust quickly while others need extra time to get familiar with their new surroundings.
