Default Teenage Years?

Is there an equivalent to teenage years when hamsters go through a stage of eating loads and sleeping loads during, say, a growth spurt? If so when does this normally occur and when does it finish?

well, most growth is from 0-2 months, but they do seem to have another little spurt around the 4/5 month mark

I don't know about a growth spurt, but I do know my little boy roborovski has gone a bit wild during his teenage months - he just won't stay still and zooms all over the place. And loves rubbing his scent gland on everything. He's a little weirdo, but I love him . Am hoping he'll calm down a bit once he gets older.

Before that, he did get a little chubby at one point, but now eats a fair bit yet stays trim due to the aforementioned zooming around.

He sounds a bit teenagerish at any rate! I suppose if the hyperactivity was becoming a problem you could try kalm aid...if that's ok for hamsters? Perhaps he'll mellow with age. Oakie's actually grown quite chubby and active too, and rubs his scent gland on everything as well.

Oakie has discovered how to scent mark his territory and is going crazy with excitement! Perhaps that's what the hyperactivity in yours is about too? He dashes round and round the room, scent marking everything and going 'Yeeeah...I'm a man now!!!'
