There are a number of ways of making an easy bottle holder. The cardboard ones get wet though and some fall over. I made one using a plastic spring water bottle (500ml size). You cut the top off so you have a sort of plastic vase. Then fill the base of it with stones (ideally cage safe stones or pebbles - I used polished crystal rocks from stepson's collection they looked very nice in the plastic bottle and easy to clean). You need to make a hole for the spout at the right height, so the bottle sits in the open holder with the spout sticking out through the hole. The spout keeps the bottle in place.

You need to be careful there are no sharp plastic edged where you make the small hole and that the top, where cut off, is a clean cut and no sharp bits too. Also make sure that water still comes out of the bottle easily.

In terms of how high to make the spout hole - too high is better than too low as you can push the weighted holder down into the substrate to make the spout lower.

I really liked the idea of using the polished crystal stones They looked nice and I liked the idea of positive vibes in the hamster cage I think we got a whole bag of them for about £2.50. Not too small in case they manage to climb in and pouch them, although that's unlikely.

Or you can get all quartz crystal or amethyst or tiger eye. Amethyst is supposed to be healer - whether this is true I have no idea, but it's nice

Oh wow, I will definitely be giving this a try! I will put a photo up when done!
