Default Scent marking her treats?

I keep a jar of Marti's treats on my coffee table, as well as a little bowl with treats she had chewed on but then abandoned during her outside time, not to mix them with the fresh ones. On Wednesday I was grocery shopping and bought a little bag with peanuts, raisins, and dried fruits. I put the mix in the treat jar and gave Marti a few bits to try, putting what she hadn't finished in the bowl.
She was exploring the coffee table when she started rubbing against the jar and the bowl, similar to how cats do with their owner's legs. She did it for a few seconds and then kept on exploring. I've never seen her do that before. Could it be that she liked the mix I'd bought so much that she wanted to prevent it from being stolen when she'd get back to her cage?

Hehehe that's cute. Generally speaking, they scent mark to basically "own" the object. So, yes, she probably smelt her treats, scent marked on it so that nobody else can have it. It's her marking her territory, or so to speak.
Be assured that it's completely normal, my hamster rubs his hips on everything when he's out of the cage lol!!

That's so adorable! They really are funny when it comes to things that belong to them.

That's so adorable that Marti scent marked her treat jar and bowl! She obviously really enjoyed them!

Thank you all for reassuring me. Marti has done it a couple more times since I posted this thread. One time she got so enthusiastic about it that her bowl nearly fell off the table.
