Launching itself onto back
Humphrey keeps going into his tunnel and launching himself onto his back and getting up and doing it again it's really strange as he doesn't usually do it could it be the heat affecting him??

Re: Launching itself onto back
It's a bit difficult to picture what you're describing. Is he falling? Could you perhaps attach a video so we could see? What species is Humphrey?

Re: Launching itself onto back
not a back flip he just brushes himself round the tunnel and ends up on his back hes eating and drinking and running on his wheel it has been near 30 degree in my house today so ive tried keeping him as cool as possible maybe his tunnel is cooling him he isnt doing it constantly and ive checked him over no sign of illness he has been having eye drops recently that the vet supplied for an eye problem he was having which has almost gone

Re: Launching itself onto back
No need to worry over it, he's just scent marking
When a Syrian rubs their hips against something, they're marking it. Sometimes though I've noticed that they'll roll around in the bedding on their backs as well. I wouldn't be too concerned

Re: Launching itself onto back
He may be getting hot, but I don't think the marking and the heat would be correlated. I've had hams who do this and my house stays around a steady 23°. Try adding some ceramic mugs, tiles, or pots. Even a refrigerated sand bath would help
