I don't necessarily think bar chewing is natural, but I also don't think it's done out of pain. A lot of hamsters bar chew, it doesn't quite seem logical that every hamster who chews bars is in pain. Besides that, the HH post is archived thus it is an older post. There really isn't any true evidence in that thread which would make me think there is a correlation in all honesty
