Default Mabel peeing in her ball

We are going through the process of taming and am slowly starting to hold her.

Ive noticed she's peed a couple of times in her exercise ball

Is this anything to worry about

It's completely normal for a hamster to mark in their ball. However, if you're using a ball, it's for this reason (among others) that she should only be allowed to run for 10 min or so intervals then taking a break. I personally don't recommend hamster balls as they really don't provide much in the stimulation department for hamsters. If you could instead provide a playpen, that would be much more ideal

You need to let her out of the ball every 10 minutes so she has a chance to eat, drink, pee etc.

She may prefer a playpen to a ball. You can use the ball to transfer her from the cage to the playpen.

Play pens are more popular than balls now as the hamster can smell the environment etc better when not in a ball. You can buy or make a playpen and if it is big enough you sit in it with your hamster. It can be a good way to tame a hamster.

If she is litter tray trained that could go in the playpen and hopefully she will use that.

It is normal, and just another reason why exercise balls are not such a good idea. I would urge you to use a playpen instead of a ball. Exercise balls are at best not enriching for a hamstervand at worst stressful, or even damaging if not large enough, as many are not, paeticularly for syrian hamsters. Hamsters explore by scent and like to roam at their own pace. A playpen offers them so many more opportunities for freedom, climbing and as natural an exercise experience as possible. Even if Mabel does not use her time in the playpen to run, she will be getting that experience already in her wheel, which, importantly, she can get off at any time - unlike a ball. A playpen will also afford you more opportunities to interact with her and therefore assist the taming process. If you must use a ball, do so for no more than 10-15 minutes at a time.

You definitely don't have to buy a playpen,in fact I'd not buy a playpen as they're often unsuitable. It's very easy to make your own out of cardboard(make sure this is dye free,as you wouldn't be able to tell the source if it were dyed which is a safety risk if chewed). However, you can also make playpens out of other materials so have a look around the forum

What country do you live in? Depending on where you live will depend on what playpens you can buy.

You can also make a playpen. Look on YouTube for diy hamster play pens. The playpen is better with solid sides so it is harder for a hamster to climb out.

The stylish playpen diy is quite good. It is custom able to make bigger or smaller and it folds up.making storing easier.

Depending on your hamster, the size and height of the playpen will change. Taller sides for Syrian hamsters. Dwarfs may not enjoy a larger playpen especially if there is lots of open space.

Could I just use my bathroom?

No places to hide in cupboard for example and I'd be in with her?

The bathroom is a risky place for free ranging. There are many places that she could squeeze in and behind, such as behind the toilet or sink. Also take into consideration that many surfaces, even sometimes the floor, could have been cleaned with chemical cleaners such as bleach. The floor may also have human waste on it (gross). Given these reasons the bathroom really isn't the best place for free ranging.
As amity mentioned you could use something as simple as a cardboard box and spend little to no money on a playpen.

Free ranging can be fun if done correctly but I wouldn't recommend doing it in a bathroom.
