Default Running over to my hand?

I wonder if its normal if Hamtaro runs toward my hand or what does it mean?

Here is an example, when I have to refill Hamtaro's food bowl he slowly comes out of his hiding spot and runs in the direction my hand is in. I do not make much noise or i try not too, or if he sees my hand he runs quickly over to it. i don't know if its attention seeking or he thinks theirs food in it.

Totally normal, he's coming to say hello
He knows you by now so if you disturb he'll come out to see you & may be hoping for some treats, nice food or whatever he associates you with most.

As Cypher says, it's quite normal. If your hand is in the cage though they are sometimes checking what it is doing in their cage! And can follow the hand around lol. Just to make sure it doesn't do anything it shouldn't. They can be a bit houseproud/territorial in their cage. If it is more of a run at the hand to scare it off then that is definitely territorial behaviour.

After some time I started spot cleaning our last hammy's cage while he was in it as it used to stress him to find things had changed slightly and smelled a bit different, if he returned to the cage after I'd done it. So I did the spot cleaning while he was in it so he could see/check what was happening, and he used to follow my hand around slightly worried, but at least he knew what was what and accepted the slight change better.

Thank you that's a relief. I thought it would be a bad sign because after i touch his food bowl or whatever it is he runs to that spot checks it out and goes back to what he was doing.

He's probably just making sure you're not stealing his food lol.

Don't forget how sensitive their sense of smell is too, even if you don't make much noise he will pick up your scent & also smell your scent on the food bowl or whatever you've touched, they're often just curious as much as anything & have to check everything out

As long as he isn't hissing or biting when he comes over it sounds like he's just being friendly and happy to see you, like cypher and serendipity said. Some of my hammies like to come over to the side of their cage if I stand in their room talking for a while so I think it's a greeting and they're just happy to see us
