Unhappy Strange noise

So I decided I was going to clean Wasabi's cage with her in it (Switch bedding and move toys around).

I took out all the bedding using one of those hand held dustpan thingies and she chased after it trying to keep all her bedding with her but I got to the bedding before her every time except the last time which was when I scooped her and like 2 pieces of bedding up. I put her back in her cage but she kept sitting on the dust pan and staring at me so I put her in her hamster ball and vacuumed up all the bedding as she ran around the house. I got her back after chasing her for 5 minutes and put her back in her cage.

Then I poured in a bunch of bedding that made a pile that probably looked like a mountain to her. She tried to climb up it and almost got to the top but slipped and tumbled down the pile of bedding. I spread the bedding out and she began to make a network of tunnels as I put her stuff back in the cage.

She fell asleep under the bedding so I dug her up and she went to her hut. ]

Then she stuck her nose out and sneezed!

Sneezed or make a quiet, high pitched sound that sounded like a sneeze that I've never heard before. In fact, up until now she's been absolutely silent. She walked to her food and sat in the dish and made the noise again.

I didn't know what to do so I picked her up and looked to see if she had something in her nose but she didn't. Then she "sneezed" in my face and I got sprayed by this super light mist and a cool stream of air. I wrapped her in a tissue and she fell asleep and since then I haven't heard her make that noise. That was 2 days ago.

Did i do something wrong?

What type of bedding is she on? Sometimes, when the bedding has first been added, it can still be a bit dusty and this can irritate your hamster's nose and lungs. How much bedding did you remove in this cleaning? How often do you clean? Remember, only take about 1/4 to 1/3 of the bedding out at a time. Hamsters need to have their scent to feel comfortable make sure when retrieving your hamster after being out, you don't chase her as this will make her nervous and more likely to nip or bite you and you definitely don't want to feel the bite of a scared hamster! Hope all is well with her, best wishes

I use a wood shavings bedding which, now that I think about it, is dusty. So she's not sick?

I wouldn't think she is if she isn't displaying any other symptoms. How has she been since this event?

Glad to hear. I would still keep an eye on her, and consider the suggestions
