Sore face from chewing bars :(

My seven month old Syrian girl has chewed her bars like a maniac ever since we got her, I've tried every trick in the book, she even has two substantial cages joined together and every chew/toy on the market! I've tried blocking the area and she just moves elsewhere to chew! However last week I brought her a hanging toy with loofah pieces on it. After she chewed through the string in about thirty seconds I took the loofah pieces out of her cage and pushed them between the bars in her favourite chewing spot and now she doesn't touch the bars, just goes mad for loofah! Her cage is a complete mess but she's so much happier! You can buy dyed loofah chews from p@h or you can do what I've done and purchase a full size loofah sponge from wilko for £1 and cut it into smaller pieces!

She has a loofah tou and isn't interested in it at all! I put a tall box full of hay for her to burrow through as well and she's not touched it! Her face is healed though so that's something ��

It might be a good idea to look into a permanent solution. You can wrap thick cardboard all around the bars of the cage (that she can reach) and see if that stops her. If it doesn't hold her back long, you can do the same thing except with a strip of plexiglass as this cannot be chewed. Glad to hear her face has healed! Best wishes
