Re: Scared Hamster
CB I think it was probably having to chase him around in a panic to catch him during out of cage time that frightened him, just needs a little time to settle again.

Set backs like this do happen sometimes but he'll come round with a little time.
When you get him out again use a cardboard tube (with your hand over one end to block it) a large mug, box or anything he's happy to climb into to transport him & only have him out for out of cage time in a safe area, play pen, bath tub etc where you know he can't escape so neither of you need to get stressed like that again!

Thanks for the tips! I will do as you said next time. I think though, he jumped off my arms because he was trying to escape, it wasn't the first time where he was looking around furiously to get away from that cage, maybe he thought it was a good opportunity and jumped off
Although, he seems more happy today! Yesterday I let him rest in his old cage, while today my mother's partner without making a sound while he was sleeping put his hideout in the new cage, and when he came out of his house, he looked really happy! He was running everywhere but this time not trough the walls but trough the toys and he looked even really happy to have a sandbox, he spent literally around twenty minutes in trowing sand on his face and digging ahah, and his spine looks way less curved with the new wheel, whose don't even have that thing inside that was bothering him at first. (The first wheel was around 13cm wide, while this new is around 20cm wide!)

Re: Scared Hamster
Go slowly. Setbacks are normal with taming especially if you have a hammie that has an incident like this. Don't worry I believe he will come around in time. I personally use the cup/bucket method myself to get my hammie out of his cage. Kilian doesn't like to be picked up by the claw(hand above the hammie) method either. Don't worry. Even if your hammie is one of those types doesn't mean that they are untameable.

I won't give up on him, I'll try with the cup method as soon as he stops being scared of me (or at least become at ease with my presence)

Thank you! I will!
There's one more thing I'd like to ask though,
he isn't drinking, after he climbed up the drinking-trough making it fall on himself, he eats and all but don't get nearby the plastic thing.

Re: Scared Hamster
Do you mean the water bottle fell on him or do you have a bowl?
He's unlikely not to drink but if the bottle fell on him he may be a little scared of it, you could just try moving it to a different position.
They don't drink much so he may just be drinking when you're not around, you can leave a small piece of cucumber in the cage if you are worried he's not drinking as he can get fluid from that.

I meant the water bottle! And, I figured it out, in the end I moved the water bottle in another angle and he went on drinking from that (and stopped climbing up to it)
I'll keep the suggestion of the cucumber though! Thank you!
