Re: stair climbing=yay!
I've had Koda 2 and a half weeks now and it's only just ocurred to me (I'm a bit thick sometimes) that I can let him out to run around at the bottom of my stairs. I live in a first floor flat but have my own on-street front door. Our flats look like houses from outside but the two upstairs ones, when you go in the door you are met with the stairs. At the bottom of my stairs there is nothing but the front door so can let him out down there safely without fear of him running behind something and never coming out again.
He was delighted to be able to run around free and whizzed around checking out the small gap under the door, sniffing the fresh air, and nibbling my doormat. He also seemed to enjoy nibbling my skirtings board tops too. He immediately decided he enjoyed trying to chew my carpet to bits in the corners (I've read posts here on this habit lol). Once he realised he couldn't get a grip with his claws on my glossy skirtings and so couldn't climb up them, it took him no more than 20 seconds to teach himself to climb the stairs, using the carpet to grip onto.
Now I have somewhere to let him out while I save to buy the huge bin I saw at the DIY store. Now all I have to do is make him some toys, as there are no good ones to buy in the shops.
