Re: Hamster sleeping behaviour - Recently lost two in the space of a week! Very anxio
I think you will feel better when you've had little funerals for the two that passed xxx Some people have had lovely ideas for funerals and burials for their hammies on here.
I noticed you said her cage has four levels and wondered if it was very tall? Because tall cages can be a big fall risk for hamsters - and need setting up carefully so they can't fall between shelves from the top to the bottom as that can cause serious injuries. Usually a tall cage needs a full level in it to make it safe. Hamsters are good at climbing but can just let go and "drop". And they are at their most active at night so you don't always see what they get up to!
Anyway if it is a tall cage, we have lots of set up ideas that can help

Also keep in mind levels do not contribute to the actual floor space. It would be much better to have a large single floor space of a cage rather than one very tall but otherwise quite small cage.It doesn't have to be expensive to be a good cage, you can make a huge bin setup over 1,550 square inches for less than 50 dollars in the US!

Do you have a photo of your cage and set up? Sometimes a layout can affect their behaviour as well or a wheel size or something.
