Exclamation side squeaking

My hamster, named chalky who just came out onto the top level of his cage, usually when he gets greasy (dont know how) we put him in the sandbath now but before, we just put him back down in the cage and he did this really weird thing where he turned on his side and squeaked 3 times! dont know if anyone else has this problem and i would like to know if it is a problem and need to take him to the vet :O

Default Re: side squeaking

When they appear greasy it's usually just that they've been scent marking (rubbing their scent glands against things), you shouldn't need to put your ham in a sand bath but just keep the sand bath in the cage so that he can groom & roll in the sand as & when he needs to or wants to.
Not sure about the squeaking, that's usually a sign of fear or pain so check he hasn't hurt himself somehow.
