Ninja?!
Hi. Today I've witnessed something very funny with my hamster. At 7pm I gently said hello to awake him to go for a run as I was busy later, though he seemed to be awake in his igloo anyway. He then removed some of his poop from his igloo in his mouth and placed it in the entrance of his igloo, which I noticed he did at the top of his igloo down the stairs! So he happily came out, yawned and stretched etc and then he moved to his other nest in the corner. He then started biting the cage for like 5 seconds and then flipped on his back and tried to bite his upper level floor? He then sprang his arms and legs out! I've seen him do this before but that was because he was really hot (he fell asleep though) but not sure what caused it this time? He's been ok ever since. His nest is very hidden and private so I didn't scare him (he came and greeted me) he's also hand tamed.
Any suggestions?

Re: Ninja?!
The wiggling on his back reminds me of what my hamster does when he's bathing in his sand bath.

Oh, that's interesting! I've never given him a sand bath, is it advised to give this a try?

Re: Ninja?!
Using a sand bath is extremely beneficial if you use good sand!Chinchilla sand can be good, but children's play sand if baked to sterilize it is good as well and can be much cheaper for the amount you'd get
It isn't just a way to keep fur clean,as some hamsters will use it as a litter tray as well.It would be the safest litter tray too,as there are lots of things called potty litter on the market in general which are completely unsafe(clay based things mostly)which if ingested could cause serious problems.
