No longer happy in playpen!
Hi all,
I'm new here and am wondering if any of you can answer my question. I currently have a four month old female Syrian hamster, named Bob (I know I know but the not so clever pet shop assistant told us she was male) who's been with us just over a month. Most evenings I put her in a 'playpen' which is a big plastic storage container, she has various toys and substrate in there and up until two nights ago would happily play in there for an hour or two, however she's recently worked out that she can climb out and now as soon as she's eaten any food/treats that I've put in there she scrambles desparately at the side to get out and doesn't settle, this means that I have no where safe to put her when cleaning her cage apart from cardboard boxes which she is a professional at chewing her way out of. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can encourage her to settle in there again?
