Hyper Hamster
Hey Friends!
My 6 month old Syrian is so hyper recently!
She has a wheel and a flying saucer which I change over weekly, pipes and tubes, things to climb on, nest in and chew...yet she still runs around super speedy, it's crazy! She has plenty to do and plays constantly but she's like an excited puppy and this is only happening to this extent the past few days. She comes out to play every evening and also spends time in her ball.
Is there anything you can suggest to help tire her out or is it okay for her to be this excitable? I worried she was bored and had too much energy because of that but she still plays constantly so maybe it's not boredom?
Thank you!

Re: Hyper Hamster
I think you've got an active hammy, I doubt she's bored.

Re: Hyper Hamster
Some hamsters seem to have more active personalities than others and I've found that at times they seem more hyper than others. I don't think that's necessarily a sign that they're bored, just a natural fluctuation in their energy levels, just as we will have from time to time.
I've got an eight month old Chinese female who is full of energy and whilst she likes things to keep her occupied, she tends to make her own entertainment too by digging in her cage, building nests, moving her food stashes.
I tend to put Jessie's food in a small cardboard box with a couple of small holes punched in it so that she can work at getting her food out and she's also got a treat kabob that keeps her busy too.

Re: Hyper Hamster
I don't think it's a concern either, she sound like a happy & healthy hamster. Do you have Starbucks Coffee in her water bottle? Kidding! Hoping she is okay
