Hamster unexpected screaming
So I was playing with Mr Mabel tonight.... His favourite game, trying to escape my bed by running into my hands at the edge. I put him down on the opposite side of the bed like I usually do but this time he ran across jumping and screaming.... He actually threw himself off the bed into my lap because I wasn't expecting it. I picked him up and stroked his head and put him back into his cage but I'm worried about him now. I gave him a yogurt drop and he seems fine now... Not particularly stressed or scared as far as I can tell. I didn't make any unexpected noises or movements so I don't think he was surprised/scared but could be have been angry? Its the same game we always play so I'm not sure what I did differently

** 30 minutes later... He's now snuffling at his bars for a treat so I really don't know what happened!

Maybe something scared him?

Re: Hamster unexpected screaming
Maybe... I kind of hope so because it seems like the other options are anger or pain and that would be horrible for the poor little guy! I had him in a quiet room and I didn't move or make any sudden sounds so I'm really not sure what it would have been!

Re: Hamster unexpected screaming
Maybe just leave him alone for the evening but try and observe him if you can to make sure he's ok

Re: Hamster unexpected screaming
Yeah I've left him to himself since. I've looked in on him occasionally and he's just eating. Fingers crossed he seems to be ok!

Re: Hamster unexpected screaming
It does sound like something spooked him, hamsters can hear sounds we can't. Fingers crossed it's a one off.
