Okay, this would be a bit over budget however it offers way more space than the Alaska does! Its only modification that needs to be done is meshing,so fairly simple to make it work for a hamster actually! It is extremely cheap for the size though

Can you manage the Barney cage from zooplus. Very good cage that many of us have.

You an buy Zoozone 2's for about £40 - 50 It's a huge cage measuring L100 x W51 x H37cm. Bar gap approx. 2.5cm

However you might have to mesh the top if you want to hang toys since it is a rabbit cage so the bars are further apart

Zoo Zone Small Animal Cage - Large on Sale | Free UK Delivery

You could probably get it cheaper on ebay or other second hand sites though.

Alaska cage I have this for Miranda it's a really good size.
Alaska Hamster Cage | Free P&P on orders £29+ at zooplus!

Honestly the Barney is a nice cage but the square meter one is a way better value, even considering the minimal modification.

The square meter cage could probably even be modified and still cost less than the Barney cage if mesh is found cheaply through Amazon anyways!
