Flying saucers don't allow for natural running patterns It's very good that you do know not to use the tiny wheels, not everyone does unfortunately!

As for the flying saucer,an upright wheel would definitely be better as flying saucers don't allow for natural running and they also still cause side arching.

Ok, some hamsters don't usually know how to use a flying saucer, it takes them a while to get used to it sometimes. What species hamster have you got?

To test if your hammie is using it place a bit of bedding on the wheel, if she uses it the bedding will have gone if she doesn't use it the bedding will remain

Thanks again everyone! Chewy is a 3 month old Syrian. I'll grab him a big 'ok wheel from work tonight and swap it with the saucer, see if he prefers that
