Well, I'll try to get my hands on some wet bedding to put in there. The places where she nests are all along the back wall of the cage: behind her wheel, in her cardboard house (although sometimes she sleeps just on the ground in between the wheel nest and the cardboard house), and in the digging tower. The sand bath is on the other side of the wheel, so fairly close to her most frequently used nest. Does it matter how deep the sand is? I might have it a little too deep right now.

I shouldn't bother trying to put some wet bedding in. If you keep trying to find some it'll probably stress her out and maybe best just to leave her for 2 or 3 days to settle down now. I didn't put soiled substrate in our potty and our hammy just started using it. I don't have the sand very deep in the litter tray - maybe half an inch to an inch. In a sand bath maybe a bit deeper.

I wouldn't worry about it being too deep, they do like it quite deep (possibly more so than syrians) & it would have to be very deep to be a problem.
I agree you don't really need to stress about finding her pee, if it does begin to build up somewhere you'll soon know about it!

Okay. I do think I may have stressed her out with my nosing around today. I'll just keep a closer eye out for soiled bedding when I'm giving her food and water.

I think this will work out on its own and it's maybe a case of "wait and see". I should wait until it's obvious where she is weeing and see if the toilet idea works. Maybe scatter a few extra treats in her cage to make up for the stress
