Default Ginger

As you know my ginger gave birth to 7 pups it now has been 19 days. Now she is putting them in her mouth and carrying them around. Is it to early to remove them from their mother?I'm scared that she will hurt them?

Is she pouching them or just carrying them by their necks?

You have nothing to worry about, She's just rearranging them. Most animals carry their young by the scruff of their neck to move them from place to place. There's no need to separate them as she's just doing what any mother hamster would. The part that she's using to carry them is typically referred to as the 'scruff' and doesn't hurt the pup in any way, though they might squeak a bit. Cats and dogs also carry their young this way.

It's completely normal, don't worry. They usually do this for a couple of days when the pups start venturing out of the nest, she will soon get tired of doing it and allow them to explore Have their eyes opened yet?

Not sure if you know already but you can start handling the pups now their eyes are open. start off with handling them over the cage though because they can be quite jumpy. You can give mum some time out in a separate cage whilst you handle them too

Congrats on Ginger's litter, it's perfectly fine to worry, it just shows how much you care.
Sounds like Ginger has taken to motherhood.
So looking forward to pics when you're ready to do so.
