Default Do sleeping times change? a little

Bet I'm asking a silly question but its a 1st Hamster & a Baby

Only had Chico 2 and bit days, he is waking around 7 ish, taking some chicken from our hand , but then going back to bed until were fast asleep. then having a great time in his wheel.

But Tonight he was only out about 5 mins.... Jord looked forward all day to seeing him and asked me 'if its because his a baby hes gone back to bed so quickly'?

So My question is, will this change a little as he gets older, should I do anything now or later to try and make it so he is awake more when we are still up, as he is spending alot of time in the night alone! and wondered how my Son will have chance to bond, and play with him....? (and me) lol

I do realise they are active at night, and sleep most of the day,

thanks x

The babies, like all babies do sleep a bit more. When you see him come out in the early evening that is the time to start the taming. Talk and give him treats. Try to persuade him to stay up and eventually come out. He is probably still a little unsure and will retreat to bed till all is quiet just now but gain his confidence. Ours have a routine now and know that they come out at 8pm for playtime. They are usually up and waiting or if not come out when we russle near the cage. It is better to stick to a time that suits your child. Ours is out on the big bed after bath and in night clothes. It is safe on a large bed if the hamster does jump and you can make a pen with the duvet. Take the cage on the bed and then take the lid off and let him explore if he wants. Gently stroke his back and be prepared he may wee on you or jump but don't worry it will soon pass.
