Default biting

my roborovski hamster keeps biting me whenever I put my hand in her cage. I use a glove so the bites don't hurt, but is there a way to get her to stop
thanks xx

Hi, how long have you had your robo? It's recommended to leave them completely alone for 1-2 weeks. Let us know more about your hammie?

She could be a bit nervous. Remember, we are like King Kong to hamsters so I would feel the same way. Is the biting hard and painful? If it's short nips she's trying to check you out, not trying to hurt you. If the bites are actually hard and painful, she's scared. This might be scary to do, but try to let her bite you. See which one it is. If you get scared when this happens, don't show it and let her know. This will make her more scared and might do it again out of fear. If you just let her do it she might realize you're nothing to be afraid of and probably not do it again. If she keeps doing it in a harmful way, I suggest giving her time to relax and adjust. Don't put your hand in for a while and just talk to her. After a couple of days, slowly put your hand in and put a treat in her bowl (don't directly give it to her) and do this a couple of times a day. After that, try giving it directly to her. If she bites, once again, let her do it and see if it's nipping or biting. Just repeat these steps if she doesn't stop so eventually she will stop. These are part of the taming process so it might take a while. Be patient and let her take her time to get to know you

Oh and don't use the glove because it will interfere with her getting to know your scent and make the situation worse.

Looking at your other posts it seems you've had your robos for a while now but it's not too late to go right back to basics with taming.
Even if you did it before I would use the tissue trick, putting a tissue or some plain white toilet paper up your sleeve for a few hours then putting it into the cage, keep doing that daily for a while so your robo has a chance to really get used to your scent & stop seeing it as a threat.
When you do put your hand into the cage always try to approach your ham from the front or side where they can easily see you not from above, let your ham come to you don't force your hand on it.
Good tips from meredithandyang about how to feed treats there so try to do that.
Take your time don't rush things.
How often do you clean?
Just spot clean as needed & never really do a full clean all at once, maybe once a month replace about a third of the substrate & always keep some of the old nest material & food hoard when you clean, this will help your ham to feel safe & secure, less fear generally should help prevent biting.
