Bars chewing

Hi everyone,

i have two Syrians, Noah and Billy, both live in Hamster Heaven cages with all could wish for, wheels they are more than happy with, wooden toys, mineral stones to chew, hidden food (i.e. monkey nuts or other treats), etc., etc., etc., and they both come out regularly, 2-3 times each each evening, with and without the ball, they are both absolutely lovely, friendly and tame, but still: gnawing on the bars every now and then.

Has anyone got any tips for that?

It seems to be one of those addictive habits that hamsters have and is hard to stop. The best way is to find their regular chewing spot and block this off with a toy or some cardboard woven through the bars so they can get their nose through. There is an article on the WIKI you can have a look at.
